Having a lighter powered by lighter fluid is a standard these days. No matter what type of a lighter you have, they are all powered by lighter fluid which makes the flames. Over time it has been proven that the only way for any lighter to work is with a flammable liquid which would be lid it produce fire. The inner workings of the lighter are a bit more complicated than that, but nevertheless still simple to grasp.
There are basically two types of lighters – disposable and non disposable lighters. Depending on the type, they use different lighter fluid. The first is disposable lighter fluid. Disposable lighters are very cheap and most commonly used until they run out. Usually people don’t refill them with lighter fluid simply because it’s too much of a hustle and not worthy. You can simply buy a new disposable lighter already filled with lighter fluid. There is, of course the chance for you to still go out there, buy lighter fluid and refill your disposable lighter. I’ve seen some lighters which work in the same way as cheap disposable lighters. Some companies such as Ronson also produce premium lighters which look very good but use the same mechanism. For those lighters, you can buy this lighter fluid and refill them so you can use them as much as you want. One thing you should remember with lighter fluid for disposable lighters is extremely flammable. You must not keep it with children’s reach. If you do you are risking their health.
The second type of lighters is non-disposable lighters. Most of the time these include Star lighters and Zippo lighters both known as oil lighter. With non-disposable lighters the lighter fluid is sold almost everywhere because the owner of the lighter is supposed to refill his lighter with charcoal lighter fluid in order for it to function. Zipo lighters work by having lighter fluid in their container. When the metal hits the flint it makes a spark which lights the fuse on fire. This works all the time because the fuse is connected to the lighter fluid. This lighter fluid isn’t expensive at all so you can find it in pretty much any convenient store. For some users it’s better to go online and order the lighter fluid from there. However this lighter fluid is dangerous to keep near fire. There have been a lot of accidents where lighter fluid has been the cause of a big fire so I would advise you to keep your lighter fluid on a safe place.
Using lighter fluid is a must with every lighter. With some, the lighter fluid is actually pressurized gas, while with others it’s charcoal lighter fluid. Anyways the point is that this fluid, no matter how necessary, it’s still dangerous. The best thing to do is keep the lighter fluid somewhere safe and possibly locked with a key so a kid or a dog doesn’t accidently push it over or plays with it as apart from the threat of fire, it can also harm one’s health greatly.
